As of January 2025, the achievement rate for level B-X has reached 5.3%. While this is a logical leap, if the difficulty of levels is the same as B-X, almost 95% of players will likely never beat it.

However, highly skilled players would like to test their limits. For those players, the community is making jaw-droppingly difficult custom levels.

To accommodate these different approaches and to target specific audiences, we are introducing two play styles: Classic and Tech. Although these are subjective terms, we want to share what classic and tech are.

Classic

Classic levels present classic ADOFAI experiences, featuring unique track shapes and vivid creativity.

Classic levels should inherit the grammar of the main game. Players should be able to complete Classic levels with what they've learned in the main game (1~12-X & Xtras).

Classic levels features:

Tech

Tech levels feature gimmicks developed by the community that dramatically escalate the difficulty. These include reaction-based gameplay, multi-tapping (pseudos), and fast streams with high BPMs.

Tech levels demand players to have advanced skills and, of course, physical abilities. It takes enormous effort to beat this kind of level.

If the level features the following, it may be considered a Tech level.
