Although the previous timing window served players well, some top-tier players wanted a stricter window that would better distinguish their skills. Also, for general players, "Pure Perfect" was really the only way to demonstrate how accurately they could clear a level.
Because of this demand, we’ve added a “Competitive Mode” to introduce new elements that let players dig deeper.
Enabling competitive mode activates three stats: X-Accuracy, X-Perfect, and X-Score.
A new judgement, “X-Perfect(XP)”, will be added within the Perfect window.
Perfect’s hard shrinking cap is ±25ms. (totaling 50ms, see Timing Window Calculations)XPerfect is a hard ±16.667ms window in every situation. (totaling approx. 33.34ms)XPerfect but falling within Perfect will be displayed as -Perfect (fast) or Perfect+ (late).X-Accuracy used to be a default option, but it has moved to competitive mode due to its nature.
Since X-Accuracy is calculated relative to each level, we are introducing X-Score so players can compare their scores with a fixed ceiling.
As you can see, the two scores take different approaches to rating. X-Score rewards precision, while X-Accuracy allows a wider window, allowing players to manipulate patterns.
